Night Shift STNA

  • The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.

Winchester Terrace is a Levering Management Senior Living Residence facility currently seeking an Activity Director. Hours are from 8:30a-7:30p with rotating weekends and holidays.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY – The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and supervise the overall operation of the Activities Departments in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines and regulations, or established policies and procedures governing the facility. May be directed by the Administrator and/or Activity Consultant to assure that an ongoing program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interest, and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Performs a variety of duties such as:

  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Activities Department
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism when circumstances warrant such actions
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • Must be knowledgeable of regulations and guidelines governing activity services in the nursing care facility
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
  • Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing Activity services
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
  • Performing all other duties as assigned


  • Willingness to perform the task on a continuous basis
  • Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility
  • Moves intermittently during working hours
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions
  • Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under conditions and circumstances
  • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors
  • Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with personnel
  • Must have a genuine interest in working with geriatrics
  • Assume accountability for all data contained in the employees’ handbook
  • Observe all facility policies and procedures
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner
  • It May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
  • Follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times
  • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
  • Attend in-service training programs
  • Should be enthusiastic about the work, adaptable, a good listener, and a team player who works well with coworkers



  • Must possess, as a minimum, two (2) years of college. Associates degree preferred, but not required
  • Must possess a RAC or be willing to obtain
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language

Work Experience

  • Prefer to have a minimum of 2 years experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting; or you must have completed a training course approved by the state.

Physical Demands

  • Stands and walk short distances most of the working day
  • Bends, lifts, carries and pushes objects needed to perform duties
  • Must be able to concentrate amidst distractions


  • Activity Director reports to Administrator
  • Follow Dress Code
